Overview
The Post-REM Aachen program runs from 01.02.2026 to 03.02.2026 and mixes culture, social impact, and wellness. First, you explore Aachen with the group. Then, you connect with other participants and local Rotaractors. Finally, you can relax in the Roman baths or stroll through the old town.
Accommodation
You will stay at the central 3-star Mercure hotel. It is close to Aachen Cathedral and many highlights. Breakfast is included.
Travel
We travel from Utrecht to Aachen by chartered bus. The ride takes around three hours. Aachen has no airport, but nearby options include Cologne, Düsseldorf, Eindhoven, and Brussels.
Day 1 – Arrival & First Impressions
After the bus ride, you check in at the hotel. Then we have a quick lunch together. Afterwards, we meet for billiards and an easy get-together. In the evening, we enjoy a traditional dinner as a group.
Day 2 – History, Social Impact & Wellness
In the morning, we join a guided city tour and visit Aachen Cathedral. A social project is part of the day as well. After lunch, you choose: thermal baths or laser tag. In the evening, we meet Rotaractors and local Rotarians for local wine and pizza.
Day 3 – Culture & Farewell
On the last day, we visit the Centre Charlemagne (or the Ludwig Forum). Then we have a final lunch together. After that, the official program ends. However, if you leave later, you can join an optional visit to Aachen’s historic town hall.
